We do not know the meaning of life, so the thing to do is expand the scope and scale of consciousness, digital and biological, until we know what questions to ask.

curiosity Wanting to know for its own sake: what it does for good work, learning, creativity and a long life, and what happens to it with age.

happiness What makes a life go well: whether it is meaning, love, virtue, enough money, or simply expecting less.

consciousness What it is for there to be something it is like to be a system, and whether that can be measured.
