Vibe coding is a slur; what he does is agentic engineering, and the after-3am kind is what you regret the next day.

What this subject means

vibe coding Building software by describing what you want and accepting what comes back, without reading much of it.

In tension with

Vibe coding is not programming, and the line between them is whether you look at the implementation at all.

Hansson draws the line at whether you look at the implementation, and says what falls the wrong side of it is not programming. Steinberger says the term is a slur and that what he does is agentic engineering. They may well be describing two different practices, and the fact that one word covers both is the problem each is complaining about.

Shared subject first, then similar wording. They may agree or disagree.
