Mollick reports that models generate more commercially viable ideas than groups of humans, though highly similar to each other. Lowe says the drugs advertised as having AI-discovered targets are aimed at targets people already knew about. Similar-to-each-other and already-known are the same finding met at different ends of a pipeline, and only one of them is being sold as a breakthrough.
