Changing your mind in light of new facts should be celebrated rather than held against you.

Hansson and Orosz hold that changing your mind in light of new facts should be celebrated. Sivers says nobody actually decides on the facts — emotion decides and facts rationalise. If Sivers is right, the celebrated mind-change is usually a feeling that arrived first and found its evidence afterwards, which does not make it worth less but does make the reason given for it suspect.
