- What is best for humans is no longer necessarily best for business.
- Decoupling an agent's components improves security and auditability.

What Guillermo Rauch says most about
AI agents 5
- Decoupling an agent's components improves security and auditability.
- The thoroughness with which agents can test and QA software is unrivaled.
cybersecurity 4
- Security will become a larger function in software companies
- Decoupling an agent's components improves security and auditability.
software performance 4
- The software of the future will be of a quality and performance never experienced before.
- WebAssembly is expected to play a huge role in the future of the web as more code goes native.
software quality 4
- The thoroughness with which agents can test and QA software is unrivaled.
- The software of the future will be of a quality and performance never experienced before.
AI alignment 3
- AI should serve understanding the universe and enhancing human cognition and creativity.
- Adversaries already have AI training techniques, data, and the will to attack, and will not be slowed by embedded evaluators.
code generation 3
- More software is likely to be produced next year than in all of the history of computing.
- Agents are the new compilers that compile intent into fast software.
compilers 3
- AI agents are only as good as the proof-checkers, compilers, type systems, and linters given to them.
- Agents are the new compilers that compile intent into fast software.
JavaScript 2
- JavaScript should act immediately on user input to mask network latency, which should remove most spinners and loading messages.
- Improving Next.js chunking can yield massive efficiency improvements at internet scale.
Linux 2
- Every piece of software, Linux included, is now at major risk, but Linux has the collective investment of everyone on the planet throwing AI tokens at it.
- More personal and professional computing will come from agents orchestrating work in cloud sandboxes, and those sandboxes will be Linux.
LLMs 2
- Demand for intelligence is highly elastic — every fall in inference cost is met with rapidly growing usage.
- The future is multi-model.
SaaS 2
- Once products are built for agents, a long tail of SaaS applications may never be bought again but generated instead.
- The procurement bar for SaaS products will shift to agent ergonomics.
the cloud 2
- Serverless computing was the last chapter of the cloud.
- More personal and professional computing will come from agents orchestrating work in cloud sandboxes, and those sandboxes will be Linux.
