How this works
Each change shows what they said then and what they said later, in their own words, dated, with the source.
Every quote is checked word for word against a saved copy of its source. Translations are labelled.
The short labels on each line are our summaries.

Partition and a Palestinian state
Then
For partition
The settlements and continued occupation, not terrorism, are what could destroy the Zionist vision; if the road to partition is blocked, Israel faces apartheid or a non-Jewish state.
“Terrorism is a hazard, but it cannot destroy Herzl’s Zionist vision. More settlements and continued occupation can.”

Self-rule, Israeli security
The Palestinians should get some measure of self-rule while Israel keeps security authority in the broad sense; he calls the Trump plan, with sovereignty in the Jordan Valley, a dream.
"נצטרך לתת להם איזו מידה של ניהול עצמי, כשהסמכות הביטחונית בידינו במובן הרחב של המילה"
Our translation We will have to give them some measure of self-management, with the security authority in our hands in the broad sense of the word.

No two-state solution
He says he embraced the two-state solution for many years, but it is no solution: it would doom the Zionist project rather than save it.
“But compelling as it is as a debating strategy, or a form of self-therapy, the two-state solution is, sadly, no solution at all. Rather, it is a big step down the road to another Lebanon. It would doom the Zionist project, not save it, while producing much greater misery and more bloodshed for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”
